The LaunchSquare guide

Launch & voting rules

One day to be discovered. One day for final voting. Here’s what to expect before you launch.

Two days to vote.
Then your results.

Your launch follows this schedule. Each day starts at midnight Pacific Time.

  1. Day 1

    Your launch date

    Blind voting

    Voting open · Totals hidden

People discover your launch and vote without seeing its score.

    • Your launch appears in Launching today on the homepage.
    • Public vote totals and rankings are hidden. Every vote still counts.
    • You can see your own live total on the launch page or in Manage launch.
  2. Day 2

    The following day

    Public voting

    Voting open · Totals visible

Your score becomes public. There’s one more day to vote.

    • Your launch moves to Final voting on the homepage.
    • Everyone can see vote totals and rankings as voting continues.
    • Day 1 votes carry over. Both days count toward your final total.
  3. Day 3 onward

    After the two voting days

    Final results

    Voting closed

Voting ends at midnight as Day 3 begins. Your results remain.

    • Votes can no longer be added or removed.
    • Your launch leaves the homepage’s daily voting sections.
    • Your published launch page keeps its results and stays in your product’s history.

Launching on Monday?

Monday is blind voting. Tuesday is public voting. Voting closes at 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, Pacific Time.

All dates follow Pacific Time (America/Los_Angeles), including daylight saving changes.

Before you launch

  1. Prepare a draft. Complete your profile, register your product, and write its first launch. Creating a launch draft does not start voting. Each product can keep up to ten launch drafts.
  2. Choose your date in advance. Publication is scheduled for midnight Pacific Time on that date, at least 24 hours after you schedule it. A product can have one launch per date, and each maker can have up to three scheduled or published launches in a calendar month.
  3. Review before publication. You can edit draft and scheduled launch content, change a scheduled date, or return it to draft. Check your title, summary, and description: launch content locks once published.
  4. Share your launch. Invite people to discover your product and make their own voting choice. Use your launch page or Manage launch to follow your results during both days.
  5. Keep your product’s story going. After your first launch has been published, you can create a new launch for a meaningful update. Each update has its own date and two-day voting period.

Hiding a published launch removes it from public view. Restoring it keeps the original date and votes; it does not restart the voting period or unlock the launch content.

Your votes, explained

Who can vote?
Anyone with an account and a completed profile. Sign in, finish your profile, then choose Upvote on a launch that is still open for voting.
How many votes do I get?
You get 4 votes each Pacific day, shared across Launching today and Final voting. Your allowance resets at midnight Pacific Time. Unused votes do not roll over.
Can I vote for the same launch on both days?
You can have one vote on a launch across its entire voting period. A vote from Day 1 stays in the total on Day 2 without using your new daily allowance. You do not need to vote again, and you cannot add a second vote to that launch.
Can I change my mind?
While voting is open, select Voted to remove your vote. Removing a vote you cast today frees one of today’s votes. Removing a vote from a previous day changes the launch’s total but does not give you an extra vote today. Voting again uses a vote from today’s allowance.
Can I vote for my own launch?
Yes. Your vote follows the same rules and uses one of your daily votes.
Where can I see my Day 1 results?
As the product owner, open your launch page or Manage launch to see your live total. Counts stay hidden in the homepage’s Launching today buttons, including when you are signed in as the owner.
Can makers see who voted?
No. Individual voting choices stay private, including from the product owner. Public results show totals and rankings, not a list of voters.

Keep it fair

Honest promotion is welcome. Purchased or traded votes, rewards for voting, fake accounts, and automated voting are not. Describe your product accurately and only publish work you are authorized to share.
